Your Rights as a California Resident Under CCPA
GroundTruth’s Approach to Privacy
At GroundTruth, consumer privacy has long been at the center of what we do. One of our core beliefs is that we can provide powerful insights while respecting privacy.
One of the fundamental ways in which we live that out is by basing our systems on devices’ mobile advertising identifiers, rather than people’s names or email addresses.
A mobile advertising identifier (“MAID”) is a string of characters linked to a mobile device for purposes of advertising and analytics. It looks something like this: a12b3cd4–5678–9e01-fa23–456-b78c9d0e.

Resetting your MAID will break the linkage in our systems to any information we have about your device from before the reset, rendering it unusable in our systems. Alternatively, we offer mechanisms to opt out of use and sharing of your information for behavioral advertising, available here.
GroundTruth provides the rights described on this page as required by the CCPA (as defined below), and California residents are free to exercise them. Please note, however, that doing so will require you to contact us and provide us with additional information that we would not otherwise have, such as your name and proof of California residency.
Your Rights and How to Exercise Them
In order to exercise any of the following rights, in addition to any additional requirements specified below for a specific right, you must provide a copy of your ‘proof of residence’, an official California state identification document that displays your state of residence. Please be sure to redact all other identifying information from the image when you send it to us, as we do not have that information in our possession and do not wish to receive it. We will not use the information you submit to make these requests for purposes other than verifying and carrying out your request.
Right to Know about the personal information we collect and share
The CCPA defines personal information broadly, as “information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household.” The CCPA gives you the right to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell about you, the categories of sources from which we collected your personal information, our purposes for collecting or selling your personal information, the categories of your personal information that we have either sold or disclosed for a business purpose, and the categories of third parties with which we have shared personal information.
How to make a Right to Know request
You may request these disclosures by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org and supplying us with the MAID for your device(s) and your proof of residence (as described above). For instructions on how to look up a device’s MAID, click here. By submitting your request, you certify that the MAID(s) you provided with your request are associated with your device(s).
You have the right to make a free request two times in any 12-month period. We will make the disclosure within 45 days of receiving your request, unless we request an extension. In the event that we reasonably need a 45-day extension, we will notify you of the extension within the initial 45-day period.
Right of Deletion
You have the right to request that we delete your personal information.
How to make a deletion request
You may request that we delete your personal information by e-mailing email@example.com and supplying us with the MAID for your device(s) and your proof of residence (as described above). By submitting your request, you certify that the MAID(s) you provided with your request are associated with your device(s).
Do Not Sell
A “sale” of personal information under the CCPA is defined broadly to include the “selling, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating orally, in writing, or by electronic or other means” personal information “for monetary or other valuable consideration.
You have the right to request that we do not sell your personal information. After we receive and validate your request, we will cease any selling of your personal information, in accordance with the CCPA.
How to make a Do Not Sell request
You may request that we do not sell your personal information by e-mailing DNSrequest.firstname.lastname@example.org and supplying us with the MAID for your device(s) and your proof of residence (as described above). By submitting your request, you certify that the MAID(s) you provided with your request are associated with your device(s).
Certain businesses may collect personal information when you interact with our website in order to provide you with relevant ads across the Internet, and may sell that personal information to other businesses. If you would like to opt-out of those companies’ sale of personal information collected from our website you can visit www.PrivacyRights.info.

Exercising your rights through an Agent
If you wish to exercise your rights through an agent, that agent must comply with the processes on this page and provide us with (i) the information about you stated on this page with respect to any particular request or election, (ii) a written agreement authorizing the agent to act on your behalf and (iii) you should refrain from redacting your name from the identification described above and the name must match the name in the agreement authorizing agency, so that we may verify authorization.
