A bit about you

Who we are looking for:

As our Marketing Manager, Events, you will manage and own GroundTruth’s extensive events calendar of both in-person and virtual events. You thrive in fast-past environments, can provide strategic direction, and enjoy planning for big events down to the smallest detail. You will define goals for each event program, while managing budgets, timelines, and vendors to ensure a seamless and impactful experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create a compelling vision and strategy addressing key seasonal and sponsorship opportunities coordinated around relevant events and strategic partnerships
  • Autonomously manage events from concept to execution
  • Manage and execute multiple events of any size at any one time
  • Communicate with internal staff, executives, clients and vendors during all phases of planning to ensure alignment and clear expectations
  • Measure impact of events by incorporating tracking into projects, recapping events, and driving leads
  • Track complex budgets including contract and vendor negotiations
  • Oversee cross-functional teams on programming and content while providing strategic guidance and insight moving beyond a purely logistical role
  • Manage event promotion pre, during and post event by crafting strategic messaging across social platforms, GroundTruth website, email communication, etc. to drive engagement, event registrations, and extend the impact of the events
  • Manage inventory of promotional products (swag) and gifting
  • Support other team initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in event management and event marketing with proven success planning large, complex events and programs (conferences, trade shows, corporate events, workshops, client appreciation events) and able to present examples of work
  • Experience managing large budgets and vendor partnerships
  • Solid understanding of event technology 
  • Proficiency in the virtual event landscape, awareness of current trends, vendors and best practices for delivering virtual experiences
  • Must showcase outstanding oral and written communication skills with an hyper focused attention to detail
  • Excellent project management skills and a desire to improve current processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Willing to travel (as needed)
  • Must be able to showcase appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, and take action without having to know the complete picture
  • Experience with Google Suite and social media platforms LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook/Meta required
  • Experience with Salesforce, project management tools such as Asana, and social media aggregator tools preferred
  • Experience working with senior leadership, a plus
