What SREs at GroundTruth do

  • Build, operate and architect cloud native systems infrastructure through code and tooling
  • Develop build and CI/CD platforms
  • Drive discussions around SLIs and SLOs and measurable impacts in degrading systems
  • Create tools to reduce toil
  • Build self-service automation for processes and tasks that enable other engineers
  • Build content-rich dashboards for system and business health with thresholds and alerts based on SLOs
  • Build alerts based on reductions of error budgets
  • Evaluate systems health and issue impact
  • Respond to and effectively resolve system, application, and customer incidents
  • Providing timely communication regarding incidents, their status, impact, resolution, and causal analysis
  • Lead and participate in incident retrospectives to improve our IcM practices and reduction of future issues
  • Produce detailed written incident reports for business stake holders and leadership executives

Required Experience

This position is hiring at various levels from Associate to Principal Engineer. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate experience with:

  • AWS or other cloud service stack
  • Engineering cloud native architectures
  • Operating large scale distributed systems 
  • Working knowledge of systems observability, telemetry, instrumentation and analysis & reporting
  • SLIs, SLOs and error budgets
  • IaC expressed though a common framework such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Scripting and automation of tasks
  • Engineering automated systems workflows
  • Understanding of IP protocols and networking
  • Firm grasp of Linux and containers
  • Data at scale

  • Evaluate and engineer large-scale system designs & cloud native architectures
  • Identifying and diagnosing issues in deployments together with software development teams

  • Instrumentation of telemetry, traces and logs
  • Coding
    • shell scripts
    • programming tasks and automation using a common programming language
