A bit about you
As the Manager of Serving team, you will oversee development, maintenance, operations, and architecture of backend systems powering GroundTruth’s ad serving platform. You will collaborate with engineering and product leaders to design scalable solutions to strategic business problems, then guide the team in executing these solutions. This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to shape the technical direction of core revenue-generating systems which drive the company’s bottom line.

You will:

  • Work closely with engineering and product leaders to establish technical approach, timing, and resourcing for strategic roadmap initiatives
  • Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders on cross-functional projects
  • Be responsible for planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects
  • Hire, manage, and mentor a team of engineers across a wide range of experience
  • Identify areas of improvement and opportunities for growth within team
  • Supervise the team’s day-to-day operations and provide constructive feedback and coaching
  • Support and nurture team members in developing technical and non-technical skills and in growing their careers
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews
  • Demonstrate technical leadership in promoting best engineering practices and upholding a standard of coding and architectural excellence

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in software development, including 2+ years in a management role
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or related field), or 10+ years of experience in software development
  • Demonstrated experience in driving projects end to end, including gathering requirements, scoping, design, execution, and post-deployment maintenance
  • Strong problem solving, architecture, and system design skills
  • Experience in hiring, mentoring, setting goals, and conducting performance reviews
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire team and effect positive change throughout organization
  • Good decision-making skills, including the ability to clearly articulate and justify choices when faced with alternatives
  • The ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in effectively managing remote teams
