The Yield Manager plays a very important role at GroundTruth as the person who owns the company’s TAC margin and manages it across all business decisions. In this role you will sit at the middle of the programmatic digital advertising ecosystem and work to ensure GroundTruth makes money on the spreads between what we charge and pay for ad space. 

 

You will:

  • Responsible for GroundTruth’s TAC margin, ensuring the company’s ad supply costs to pricing ratios are in line to meet quarterly net revenue goals
  • Report to the C-Suite daily on revenue, delivery, and margin
  • Manage pricing and approve all discounts / rebates offered by the sales team
  • Oversee ad supply decisions and determine the rates publishers are paid for ad space
  • Optimize our advertising supply mix to maximize revenue by being a liaison with our Product & Technology teams and by monitoring data pipelines
  • Work closely with our campaign underwriting team (responsible for forecasting campaign delivery) and understand the aggregate risk we’ve taken across campaigns and what that means for both revenue and margin
  • Be a member of the broader Strategy & Operations team and support transformational projects to increase GroundTruth revenue and valuation

 

You are:

  • Able to use frameworks, reporting, and models to make sense of complicated systems
  • Able to understand the financial implications of key business decisions
  • Able to optimize across multiple factors to maximize financial value for company
  • Someone who wants to vigilantly track margins and ensure it does not slip; working cross functionally to address changes and drive improvements
  • Able to network internally, ensuring you’re involved / consulted in key decisions

You Have:

  • 5 – 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Understanding of the digital ad ecosystem (or the ability to learn complicated systems quickly)
  • Experience managing a function independently, with ownership of key corporate functions
  • Ability to use data to support decisions and optimize to maximize financial results
  • A solid understanding of how to get data from databases via SQL
  • Capable of using a scripting language such as Python/R (or desire to learn)
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • A background in roles where you’ve optimized complicated systems or managed yield (e.g. finance, operations, or similar)
