Privacy by Design

At GroundTruth, consumer privacy has always been at the center of what we do. Our mission is to provide a trustworthy and actionanable understanding of local communities. We believe that respecting privacy means more than just having the right policies in place and that words need to be supported by action. We think proactively about what we do, and have built a 3 tiered approach to privacy protections directly into the architecture of our platform and technology.

Prohibited Locations

Prohibited Locations is the highest form of protection GroundTruth has integrated into our systems. These are locations where we don’t track and are completely blacklisted from our technology.

Examples include:

  • Nuclear Power Plants
  • Nuclear Missile Silos
  • Adult Entertainment
  • Marijuana Growers

Consumer Protected Locations

Consumer Protected Locations is the second tier of protection. Under this tier we do not collect individual device-level information, meaning that data is not stored in the GroundTruth systems or used in our services.

Examples include:

  • Places of Worship
  • Family PlanningCenters
  • Specialty Health Clinics

Content Restricted Locations

Content Restricted Locations is the third level of privacy protection. This applies to the type of content we allow displayed through our technology at certain locations. A core example being that we would never display an alcohol ad on the property of a College Campuses.

Examples Include:

  • Credit card advertisements on College Campuses
  • Alcohol advertisements in proximity to High Schools
  • Financial products in proximity to Military Locations
