Leading the Industry in Location: GroundTruth Takes on Advertising Week NY

This year’s Advertising Week New York is sure to be another important event for the industry. Thousands of professionals will be coming from all across the globe to present bold ideas, network, and collaborate. After a successful week at Cannes Lions in June, GroundTruth is eager to kick off the fall with another industry event and lead a thought-provoking panel about the state of brick-and-mortar retail.

Location, Location, Location

Advertising Week New York has historically been held in dozens of venues throughout Manhattan. However, this year is important for Ad Week since this will be the first year all of its content will be under one roof at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square theater. This is a big deal for attendees since when it comes to planning for the week, it’s all about location, location, location—and we know that better than anyone else!

To prep for the big event, we dug into foot traffic at the theater and found that The Loews theater is the second most popular movie theater in New York City, just behind the AMC on 34th Street. We’ll be interested in diving into the data post-event to see how these foot traffic patterns change when the theater switches from playing movies to hosting industry panels and presentations.

Brick-and-Mortar is Alive and Well

We’re also excited to share that we’ll be hosting a panel this year at Advertising Week New York. We’ve been doing extensive research on the bright future of brick-and-mortar and how foot traffic for stores has been increasing. So, we chose to curate a panel focused on this subject. GroundTruth’s CMO, Eric Hadley will be moderating the “Brick-and-Mortar is Alive and Well” panel on Monday, October 1st at 2:00 PM at Stage 8. Eric will be sitting down with marketers from Alibaba, Target Media Network, and Wavemaker to discuss the windfalls and pitfalls that physical store locations can face in our digital world. The panel will cover everything from location and customer experience to why retailers should embrace both an online and offline strategy.

The panelist will include:

  • Whitney Fishman Zember, Managing Partner, Innovation & Consumer Technology, Wavemaker
  • Christina Lu, General Manager of Uni Marketing Center, Alibaba Group Marketing, Alibaba Group
  • David Peterson, Vice President, Target Media Network
