OVERVIEW

Southeast South Dakota Tourism partnered with GroundTruth to transform digital media into verified physical tourism. By targeting out-of-town sports fans, the campaign successfully routed stadium crowds to local shops, parks, and landmarks.

THE CHALLENGE

Regional tourism associations face highly competitive seasonal windows to capture out-of-state travelers. Southeast South Dakota needed a way to identify Omaha stadium crowds in real time and convince those fans to make a detour to their state and local attractions during the event.

GROUNDTRUTH’S SOLUTION

An omnichannel CTV and Mobile campaign

The flight deployed location-based, On-Premise Targeting to engage fans inside the Omaha stadium during the event, followed by sequential post-event Retargeting across Mobile devices and CTV screens at home to keep South Dakota top of mind and drive physical travel.

THE RESULTS

This dual-screen strategy turned Omaha stadium crowds into active SE SD travelers

While the campaign ran for just one month, GroundTruth's real-time precision drove the vast majority of results in 15 short days.
